Not much is known about Salvatore Cerrito other than he was born in Villabate, Palermo,Sicily. He came with his parents Stefano and Paola (Ferritto) and siblings, Giuseppe, Geatano, and Benevenita. Salvatore and his brother Giuseppe (Joseph) first came to New York. They both became members of the San Jose mob under boss Onofrio Sciortino. Joseph became the boss of San Jose around 1959 while Sal remained a low level soldier. Salvatore Cerrito died of natural causes in October of 1978 in Los Gatos.
