Toad is Oliver's brake van. He and Oliver were saved from scrap by Douglas. He helped Oliver stand up to S.C. Ruffey and the Troublesome Trucks when they would not stop teasing them. He often travels backwards, but once got his wish to go forwards when Oliver's frieght train broke away.
