In September 2155, Bismarck was part of a six-ship task-force led by the imperial flagship USS Defiant, to recover Empress Hoshi Sato from an anti-Terran rebel stronghold. The task force found Sato on Aldus Prime. The Vulcan, Orion and Tellarite rebel forces outnumbered the task force nearly three to one, and a battle ensued.
