Matthew Twain is a Vesperian and the founder of of N.O.V.A. He has a daughter named Lisa Runde Smith. He fell in love with and married Elizabeth who was Ryuusei Cartwright's mother. He changed Ryuusei Cartwright's name to Robert Twain. Ryuusei Cartwright killed Matthew Twain and reverted to his old name. He also took on his stepfather's role as head of N.O.V.A. for some time.
