The Battle of Oriana was an engagement between forces of the United Nations Space Command and the Union of Jiralhanae Tribes, occurring on December 28, 2627 during the Galactic War. Three UNSC Navy warships, the carrier UNSC Illustrious and her escorts, the destroyer UNSC Warwick and the frigate UNSC Relentless, encountered two Jiralhanae War Fleet battlecruisers, Hound and Bloodlust, and four destroyers, approximately 0.065 light years from the Unggoy colony and military base of Oriana.
