[Source] Thrust Coils were Podracer components that controlled a pod's top speeds. Some Thrust Coils included the Plug series of Thrust Coils, and the Block Thrust Coil series. Better Thrust Coils granted better top speeds, but they would under-perform if damaged, and some pilots found that it was better to use an inferior Thrust Coil as opposed to racing with a damaged one.
