The StarCon Shuttles are equipped with quintuple-thick hyperglazed safety glass. If it breaks, it instantly solidifies on a molecular level and reglazes itself. "Beats washing them." seems to be the general opinion. Judging by the name, they might be a slightly more sophisticated version of the Quadruple-Thick Plastosteel Windows used on at least one section (8-Rear) of the SCS DeepShip 86, which might indicate either that the shuttles were built much later than the DeepShip when technology had evolved further, or that they were simply just being cheap.
