The Brownrats were a feared clan of rats led by Gruntan Kurdly. Brownrats used natural dyes to color their fur, and decorated their clothes with the bones of their fallen foes. Their number was unknown, though it is formidable; they were even mentioned to be in the thousands, although this could be an exaggeration. After the Battle of the Plateau, the Brownrats that were not slain stayed in Mossflower Woods with Laggle, no longer fearing their tyranical leader.
