An Orion raider was a class of starship used by Orions in the 24th century. They were known as being one of the fastest ships in the quadrant, able to match speeds with a Defiant-class starship and outrun a Galaxy-class starship. The Laslapadil was an Orion raider. In 2372, Calculanthra led the Laslapadil and three other raiders to pursue the USS Defiant, until they were defeated. (DS9 novel: Wrath of the Prophets)
