The USS Poseidon (ARL-12) was one of 39 Achelous-class landing craft repair ships built for the United States Navy during World War II. Named for Poseidon (the Greek god of the sea), she was the only ship U.S. Naval vessel to bear the name. She was sold 3 November 1961 to the Marine Power and Equipment Company of Seattle, Washington. Her final fate is unknown.
