The Navot was a faction on Bajor whose territory bordered that of the rival Paqu. Both factions inhabited land that was some of the harshest on the planet. Since the treaty of 2279, the natural border was the Glyrhond River. However, during the Cardassian Occupation, the river was used for mining operations and diverted twenty kilometers west, leading to a territorial dispute with the Paqu. It was not stated whether the Paqu and Navot were nation-states, as they were simply referred to as "factions."
