Instead of a villain as was in his previous animated incarnation, Leatherhead was an ally to the turtles with a scientific mind like Donatello and is often referred to as "LH.". Here he is not only intelligent but also well versed in various technical and scientific fields and therefore the Turtles and their friends (including Professor Honeycutt) find not only his giant strength but also his great intelligence helpful. He is voiced by F.B. Owens in seasons 2 and 3 and by Gary Lewis in seasons 4 and 7.
