Tyrone and Molly Dobbs were involved in a car crash on moorland in April 2010 after the brakes of their car failed, the task of fixing them not having been completed by Kevin Webster and Tyrone having taken the car, not realising that this was the case. Fire Officer Ritchie was the leader of the fire rescue team that came on the scene and cut her free from the vehicle before she was taken to Weatherfield General after the tipped-on-its-side vehicle had been stabilised and the battery disconnected to prevent sparks and fire.
