The 1880s was the second to the last decade of the 19th century. In the original timeline, Clara Clayton met her end due to falling to the bottom of Shonash Ravine. Due to alterations made to the timeline, the 1985 counterpart of Dr. Emmett Brown became a resident of Hill Valley after arriving in January 1, 1885 due to his DeLorean time machine having been struck by lightning during the Hill Valley Thunderstorm in 1955. As such, Doc and Clara found themselves married, with their sons Jules and Verne Brown born respectively in 1886 and 1888.
