Francis Howse (1851 - 13 September 1925) was a solicitor and local politician. He was twice a member of the London School Board, elected for Hackney in 1891, he lost his seat in 1894. He returned briefly to the board when he was co-opted to fill a casual vacancy at Hackney on 7 October 1897. He was again defeated at the school board elections in December of the same year. He was later a member of Hackney Borough Council, and was Mayor of Hackney in 1905-06. He was also a member of the Corporation of London as alderman for Walbrook Ward from 1906-09.
