When RoboKnight was badly damaged by a fight with Vrax, a civilian named Bryden tried to save the robot. Realizing the extent of his internal damage to his circuitry, RoboKnight passed his RoboMorpher and his essence to Bryden, changing the young man into the Silver Megaforce Ranger.
