GreeNYC is an environmental sustainability campaign, run by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. Macy's NYC & Company and Sesame Workshop launched a limited edition line of four women's t-shirts and two tote bags, on an environmental theme, available only for the last few weeks of April. Oscar the Grouch, Elmo, and Cookie Monster are featured on the products, with phrases including "Green is the New Black," "Reduce. Reuse. Recycle," "Tree Hugger," and "A is for Apple". On Earth Day April 22, 2008, Caroll Spinney appeared with Oscar the Grouch on the seventh floor of Macy's Herald Square.
