The Rene Magritte was a Betan Astronomical Survey ship commanded by Commander Cordelia Naismith that investigated a new planet that had already been claimed by Barrayar. The ship was smaller and faster than the orbiting Barrayaran warship General Vorkraft, but remained in-system long enough to rescue a captured Naismith. The Rene Magritte had a crew of 60.
