The Islands of the South were a legendary archipelago south of Beleriand. They were visited by Earendil and home to Ogres and small pygmy-like men (perhaps a branch of the Drûghu). It is unknown if they were destroyed with the drowning of Beleriand or still lay westwards of Enedhwaith and Cardolan in the Belegaer. They may be connected with the mythical land of Dor-Winion in southern Beleriand.
