A modular synthesizer manufacturer based in Jackson, New Jersey USA. SSL, as the name is often abbreviated, offers modules in the Dotcom format. As of 2012, the company has also launched a Eurorack line, with panels having a distinctive steampunk style. (The Dotcom-format modules are standard white-on-black.) Doug Slocum, SSL's proprietor, also works as a software developer. In the 1970s, he had a business modifying Minimoogs and other synths. One of his modified Minimoogs produced the now-famous three-note sound mark that the Duracell battery company used in its commercials.
