Meiji Hideaki was Minister for Infrastructure and Transport in Gishoto. He was also leader of the Meiji faction of the Gao-Showa Peoples' Party and as head of the Meiji clan was the Gao-Showa claimant to the Throne of Gao-Soto from the death of his father in 2301 till his own death in 2345. In this role he styles himself His Imperial Highness the Emperor Meiji LXXV of all Gao-Soto, Emperor of emperors, King of kings, Lord-Protector of Kazul in the tradition of the Gao-Showa emperors though he will more commonly be referred to as the Emperor Meiji or the Meiji Emperor in this role. The claim of being Lord Protector of Kazul goes back to a conflict over the succession of a Kazulian King and has never been acted on.
