The Ferrari 456 M GT is the predecessor of the 612 Scaglietti. Only 688 456 M GTs were built from 1998 to 2003, with each one equipped with a 5.5L V12 producing 442HP. The 5.5L V12, which is also used in the 550 Maranello won the "over 4 litre" class of the International Engine of the Year awards in 2001 and 2002.
