Montsa (Russ. Мончегорск, SkSaam. Monće) is a Uralican city in Sapmi county, located on the shores of the Imandra Lakes. The name "Montsa" is actually the Finnish name for the city, with "Monchegorsk" having been the former name, derived from "Monce," the word for "beautiful" in the now-extinct Akkala Saami language. Akkala's closest relative, Skolt, retains this name for the city. Formerly one of the most polluted towns in the Former Soviet Union region, mass cleanups and industrial upgrades sponsored by the Uralican government have greatly improved the quality of life in the area.
