Sammo was one of the three young football hooligans who, along with Lou and Suggy, caused havoc in Coronation Street on 9th September 1974. They were thrown out of their football grounds for being drunk and rowdy just after kick-off and called at the Rovers but left when Annie Walker refused to serve them. Their terrorism of Street included trashing the Community Centre, pushing Albert Tatlock over and smashing his glasses, rocking Idris Hopkins's car, and smashing windows.
