Thelma Whiteley was born on 29th September 1934 in Luton and died on 9th January 2000. She was an English actress who played two roles in Coronation Street: Glenda Bates in August 1973 and Edith Wilton in 1984 and 1997. Other TV appearances included: Z Cars, Clayhanger, The Famous Five, Shroud For a Nightingale, That's My Boy, Yesterday's Dreams, The Bill, Bramwell and Big Bad World.
