The Stingray-class Bomber is designed to work as a supported heavy assault fighter. With no shields or destructive laser weaponry, it can be easily destroyed by more multipurpose or interceptor type fighters. However, its decent maneuverability, high speed (for a bomber), and very thick hull make it an excellent fighter for attacking any class of capital ship. The lack of hyperdrive and shields allows for a very resilient hull to be incorporated into the design. The hull is strengthened further because it is crafted out of a single piece of material.
