Grindor was a clone of Blackout created by The Architect as part of some experiment. Whatever the experiment was, it apparently failed, and Grindor ended up joining his template's army. When Blackout was fighting Kakamu on the Matoran in a Black Suit's homeworld, he summoned Starscream and Grindor to help him. They weren't very helpful, and Grindor was soon electrocuted to death by Kakamu.
