Pee-Wee Boxer was a construction worker who worked at the Moegen-Fairhaven construction site in lower Manhattan. He was a big, burly man. He had more experience than most of his co-workers and had something of a chip on his shoulder because of it. Boxer was assigned by his foreman to enter the coal tunnel discovered on the site. Inside he discovered a series of bricked-up niches in the walls. He looked into one, hoping to find valuables he could pocket, and instead discovered dozens of skeletons, victims of the 19th-century serial killer Enoch Leng.
