Elizabeth Collins Stoddard would frequently send her servant, Matthew Morgan into Collinsport to replenish supplies from the Collins General Store. Nestled in the heart of the village, the cool, high-ceilinged store sat recessed from the street with an office on one end, and warehouses tacked on beyond that point. The Collins General Store was known for its wide variety of wares – notably its bulk supply of pickles and cheeses. In June of 1967, Elizabeth sent Victoria Winters to the store to pick up some items for her.
