Anguirus resembles a cross between an ankylosaurus, a porcupine, and an armadillo. He generally crawls on all fours but can stand upright as well. Anguirus has light gray skin, a spiny carapace, a spiky tail that sometimes ends in a club, a crown of spikes on his head, a small spike on his nose, and large human-like eyes. In the Showa era, Anguirus is 60 meters tall when standing on his hind legs, 100 meters long, and weighs 30,000 tons. In Godzilla: Final Wars, Anguirus is 90 meters tall when standing on both legs, 160 meters long, and weighs 60,000 tons.
