Major Kelly Wood is the first American female astronaut to go into space. Steve Austin is her trainer. Initially they don't get along, but after a perilous mission to Skylab ("The Rescue of Athena One"), they become romantically involved. Kelly returns three years later when the multi-million dollar aircraft she's test-piloting mysteriously disappears. ("Nightmare in the Sky.")
