Jack Buckland was the Democratic US Secretary of Labor under President Josiah Bartlet from 2002 to 2007. He was the former Governor of Indiana. Buckland would have challenged Bartlet in the 2002 Presidential primaries but he was talked down by Josh Lyman. He succeeded Carl Reid. His wife Olivia is a member of US House of Representatives.
