In 2369, several Chiaran slaves travelled through the Bajoran wormhole and requested asylum on Deep Space 9. Rogon, a Chiaran military officer, pursued them to the station with the intention of bringing them back to Chiara, but his views softened when he met them. After his crew launched a mutiny that eventually failed, some of the former Chiarans slaves returned home, while some settled on the original Alpha Quadrant planet that Jadzia Dax was able to discern and locate.
