The unnamed Master of Ceremonies led proceedings from the stage at the RNLI ball at the Windermere Rooms on Boxing Day 1971. He introduced the Ladies' Choice dance where Nellie Harvey rushed to ask Gerald Prince but was beaten by a quicker Annie Walker and the Spot Waltz where, with his back turned to the audience, he directed his assistant across the still dancers on the floor to hand out prizes. Annie and Gerald were two of the lucky winners with her receiving scented soaps and him getting a box of handkerchiefs. The character was credited as just "MC".
