The banlist is a tool for founders and delegates to keep people they don't want in the region out. A founder (or delegate if delegate regional control is on) may summarily eject any nation, sending them to The Rejected Realms. They are also given the option of placing this nation on the banlist so they can't come back. For delegates, this involves sacrificing some of their Regional Influence, especially if the nation banned is a long-established native with a lot of influence. Nations ejected and/or banned from a region receive a telegram from the NationStates Ministry of Intelligence and Logistics (originally, the NationStates Intelligence Ministry), which tracks all banlist activities.
