The unnamed Minister officiated at the funeral service of Colin Grimshaw in May 2009. After giving a short sermon to the eight-strong congregation, the minister asked if anyone would like to say a few words about the "Dearly departed Colin". After a few moments of silence, Julie Carp stood up and delivered a eulogy - stating what a wonderful person her father was. Although when it got too emotional for her to carry on, Eileen Grimshaw took her place at the lectern and spoke fondly about her childhood memories of Colin.
