Gwalhafed (or Gwalhavet) son of Gwyar is one of Arthur’s men and brother to Gwalchmei in the long list of Arthur’s men in the Welsh tale Culhwch and Olwen. This is the only place he appears in known medieval texts. The name Gwalhafed may mean ‘Hawk of Summer’. Gwalhafed might be equated with one of Gawain’s brothers in the French romances, possibly either Agravain or Gaheriet.
