Darlene Kursky was the secretary of Douglas Pabst at the magazine Incredible Tales during the 1950s. She was a fan of science fiction which made her a pretty good fit for the position of secretary at a science fiction museum. When Benny Russell submitted his story about a space station she loved it and found the character joined with a worm in its body was "disgustin', but interestin'."
