The RG550LTD features a basswood body bolted to a maple (maple and bubinga from 1997) neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and dual Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups flanking an Ibanez S1 single coil. The RG550LTD was discontinued after 1999. Its place was taken in the lineup by the RG550EX for 2000.
