Percussion Lock is an Age of Empires III technology available at the Dock in the Fortress Age. It increases the damage dealt by a Broadside Attack by 50%. Carronade must be researched first. Percussion Lock makes Frigates and Privateers even more dangerous, but is less useful for civilizations that tend to rely on Galleons, like the Spanish.
