Rainbow Stars are items found in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 which turns Mario into Rainbow Mario form and will leave a trail of lights behind him and will also be able to obtain Star Bits behind him and jump further if he runs. When getting the Rainbow Star, a remix version of the invincibility music from Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS can be heard. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Rainbow Stars reappear with no significant changes.
