gearcult is a social networking website focusing on tactical and gear related news. It launched in February 2008 with the goal to provide a way to vote and share news on the best of knives, guns, flashlights, watches, gadgets, survival, tech, media, gear, etc. It combines social bookmarking, blogging, and tracking of gear collections of its users. Many of the 'social' features will be online soon, including comments for stories and a user submission engine.
