In the run up to the Battle of Saltash, she planned to use what she believed to be the overwhelming force advantage represented by her four battlecruisers against the encroaching destroyer force under Captain Jacob Zavala's command. In an attempt to avoid bloodshed, Zavala demonstrated that Manticoran recon drone and communications technology alone represented an insurmountable edge in his favor. Despite recognizing this, Dubroskaya allowed her arrogance and pride as a Solarian Navy officer to overcome her doubts in confronting Zavala, and she ignored his repeated warnings to abandon her ships or be destroyed.
