The knight version of this aura is linked to the Battle guardian power, performing a melee basic attack against those who shift or attack an ally without the defender aura, which still causes damage equal to strength modifier on a miss. The ability is improved with the Eldritch Knight paragon path, allowing teleportation of an ally.
