Carter Plimpton was a civilian worker at the software and electrical company Equinox as part of its quality control section, as well as a former member of the Phantom Eight watcher group. In addition to that, Plimpton was also single and spent his free time collecting anime pillows. At some point, he retired from the group and joined Equinox. However, when checking in an Equinox warehouse, he was ambushed by Bruce Johnson, who domestic terrorist Harper Dearing had hired and promptly interrogated by him via blowtorch burns.
