Kristian Kostov is a Russian-born Bulgarian singer of Bulgarian and Kazakh descent. In 2014, he was a finalist in The Voice Kids Russia under the mentorship of 2-time Eurovision participant Dima Bilan and then joined the fourth season The X Factor Bulgaria where he finished runner-up. He represented Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev with the song Beautiful Mess, making him the very first artist born in the 21st century to participate in the contest. He finished in 2nd place in the final.
