Taikan was an acolyte of the Ten Thousand Temples, but in secret he was a bloodspeaker. In 1166 Iuchiban ordered his servants to strike out the Empire in a wave of murder, betrayal, and destruction. Taiken could not disobey his master, and his body and hands began to move out of his control. He set to fire the Temples, dying in flames, and the temples were lost.
