Douglas Slocombe (10 February 1913 – 22 February 2016) served as cinematographer for Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. As he retired after completing Last Crusade, Janusz Kaminski filled the role for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Prior to production, Kaminski and director Steven Spielberg viewed the first three Indiana Jones films, in order to study Slocombe's style, which Kaminski later tried to emulate during shooting..
