Zak Arranda was an anthropologist, archaeologist, and Jedi Knight who was born twelve years before the Battle of Yavin. His sister's name was Tash Arranda, and, for a time, they lived with their uncle, Mammon Hoole. They were friends with Ken Elegin, even though they had had a falling out during the Yevethan Purge. During the Mission to Lehon in 45 ABY, Zak was killed by Ram Zerimar, who was tricked into killing him by Ylairo Iteu. Tash took her brother's death hard, and almost succumbed to the dark side, while Ken vowed to never let anyone near him die if he could prevent it.
