When Ranma Saotome was chosen to act as a scapegoat for the family from Kasumi Tendo, who at the time was believed to be extremely angry and unpredictable, Akane made a small charm or omamori to protect him. Although poorly crafted, a reflection of her lack of domestic skill, Ranma notably did not comment about its workmanship. The charm uses the kanji for "protect" (守 mori?) which is commonly used on omamori.
